You must visit River Co in the blossoming Warehouse District

In the Historic Warehouse District (okay work with me on an acrynom for this area) there is a gem of Collective ‘shop of shops’ called River Co that houses many Bay Area artisans and brands plus a play room, soon to be cafe and more. Some of the many treasures:

Candles from  @intentionalgoods_  including a Petaluma candle and a Gardenia candle my mom had to have.

Featuring the beautiful local pottery of @flmceramics

Gorgeous metallic leather bags and wallets from @lelistudio

Unique Flannels with really cool lining and cuffs from @pladra

Fun graphics incuding the ‘boob bag’ from @gravelandgoldsf

And the cutest resale kids clothes ever from the creators of River Co @noonoo

There are many more…..

River Co is open Wednesday – Sunday and address is 429 1st Street Suite 100.

Now for the name of this area which is really taking off! Newer businesses such as River Co, Hog Island Oysters and McEvoy Ranch Outlet and Gathering Thyme plus favorites such as Pearl, Aqus Cafe, Quilting Angel, Juice Press and more make it a thriving area. It would be great to have a name like SoHo in New York (South of Houston St.) or SOMA (South of Market St.) in San Francisco and Santa Rosa has SOFA (South A Street Art District). Here are all the words we have to work with – River, Warehouse, 1st st., Historic, East of the River, South of Downtown. Let’s see:

FSWD – First Street Warehouse District

RWD – River Warehouse District

WORD – Warehouse on River District

Okay need your help! Any ideas?

After posting on the I Love Petaluma Facebook Group:

Sara Sass suggested South City and then we could have Friday night events where streets are blocked off and call it South City Soiree or Southside Shenanagins! Love these ideas
